When buying a new toilet, consider the new dual-flush type.  Half the water is used to get rid of the easy stuff, while a full flush sends the rest on its merry way.

Dry-dusting flings dander and dust mites into the air, and aerosols add chemicals for you to breathe.  Instead, use a slightly damp cloth.  Dust will stick to it but it won't harm furniture finishes.

What Does it Mean to Us?

More than a quarter of California's children could be living below the stringent federal poverty level this year, according to projections from a Duke University study released by the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health. These projections suggest that as many as 2.7 million California children may live in households this year where earnings are less than the federal poverty level -- $22,000 per year for a family of four. That's an increase of about 850,000 children since 2008. Research shows that, on average, families in California need to earn at least twice the federal poverty level to cover their basic expenses.

You're right on with cyber-bullying.  It happened in our family last year.  My son is still recovering.  Why do they do that???!!!!  It's so cruel!!!!!!!!!!

Your reminder that those How's My Driving signs are there for us to call made me wonder if it was true.  I called and was told it would be looked into.  The brushoff?  Maybe we need everyone to call in to trucking companies and complain so they know we're pissed off by that gunk.
